More than 550 Tasmanian ambulance workers breathed a collective sigh of relief on Thursday after a demand they pay back a $1000 Covid bonus was rescinded.
On Thursday, Tasmania’s state parliament heard that 554 Ambulance Tasmania staff had been mistakenly paid a total of more than $419,000 in the form of Covid-19 bonuses.
“I am writing to notify that you have received an overpayment of $1000 Gross,” the letter from the Tasmanian Government to the hundreds of public sector workers read.
