Hawthorn has secured a trade “steal”, according to Fox Footy’s David King, after landing “diamond in the rough” Jack Ginnivan on a reported four-year deal.
But King warned the 20-year-old will need to be “more back page, less front page” at his new club after a controversial few years at Collingwood.
Ginnivan came under fire for his appearance at the Moonee Valley races on grand final eve, in a move that reportedly became the “final straw” for the Pies after his pre-season drug ban.

But the young forward has already “read the room” – as put to him by his former coach Craig McRae – and asked his new club Hawthorn permission to attend the races this weekend.
King said he believes Ginnivan’s trade was part of the “repercussions” of that fateful decision on grand final eve...
