Polestar has opened the order books for its new Tesla Model Y rival.
Dubbed the Polestar 4, the medium sized SUV is priced from about $89,000 drive-away and is due to hit Aussie roads from August this year.
The svelte looking SUV costs about $18,000 more than the cheapest Model Y.
Unlike the Tesla, Polestar isn’t offering a cheaper version with a smaller battery and shorter driving range, instead only selling Long Range examples. A Model Y Long Range costs about $84,500 drive-away.
All 4s are fitted with a monster 100kWh battery that delivers 610km of driving range in the single motor version and 580km in the potent dual motor variant.
