Cooking oil sold as "virgin olive oil" for €30: ASAE seizes 510 liters of counterfeit olive oil

The authority detected "in flagrante delicto" the marketing of a product labeled 'virgin olive oil', which turned out to be edible oil, for a price per five-liter package of around 30 or 40 euros.

The Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE), following several inspection actions aimed at the olive oil value chain, seized 510 liters of counterfeit products, on the south bank of the Tagus and in Portalegre.
