Expat obsessed with ‘very Aussie’ grocery item

Sammy took to social media to say she has been eating beetroot daily since she arrived Down Under, while pulling some fresh beets out of the packet and popping them on her plate in the TikTok video.

The expat admitted her obsession is so deep that when she went on a backpacking trip to New Zealand the only thing she could think about was the humble purple vegetable.

“Every morning I wake up and eat beets and I wouldn’t want to eat anything differently,” she said.

She said for dinner she had a beet salad, for breakfast she had beetroot with yoghurt and for lunch she was having beetroot on a bagel.
