Christian Horner and his wife Geri Halliwell's application to build a swimming pool at their Grade II-listed mansion has been blasted as the 'height of disrespect' by furious neighbours who fear it will wreck the peace of their sleepy village.
Planning documents in January showed the Spice Girl and F1 Red Bull boss have applied to install the pool in their garden, alongside new decorative planting and a heat pump to keep the water warm.
But the couple have been hit with locals fuming that the busy pool may spoil the quiet of the tiny village - with one saying that funerals in the local church could be interrupted by 'screaming, shouting and splashing'.
New archaeological evaluations at the Wannabe singer's home also show that there is a 'risk' of remains being disturbed during the two meter-deep excavation.
It comes as Horner's Red Bull scandal rumbles on, with campaign groups backing a female employee who has been suspended after she raised a complaint about the Team Principal over inappropriate sex texts. Horner has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
Complaining to the council, one neighbour said: 'The proposed open air swimming pool does not only affect my house but also the Church which is directly opposite the proposed site.
