The 11th hour referral from the NSW government comes just a day before the mass walkout was set to begin.

On Monday, Mental Health Minister Rose Jackson committed to following the independent umpire’s advice, while saying she understood the psychiatrists wanted to “feel heard, seen and valued by the government”.
