Ex-soldier rapist who abused dozens is handed huge sentence

In considering his sentence, Judge Toy noted that Lusk's 'lack of empathy is truly remarkable' and the ex-soldier was 'highly likely' to think he had done no wrong.

A 46-year-old father-of-two found guilty of 97 counts of sexual assault after he filmed himself raping nine women and three teenagers has been jailed for 28 years.

Adam Charles Lusk was convicted of 85 of counts of sexual penetration without consent and 12 counts of stupefying in order to commit an indictable offence in Perth's Western Australia District Court last year.

He was stony-faced in court as District Court Judge Alan Troy handed down his sentence on Friday, telling him he had stolen something 'precious and irreplaceable' from his victims.

'To drug someone with stupefying substances and commit acts they did not consent to is going beyond the norm,' Judge Toy said, reported the ABC.

'There is no doubt in each case you stole something irreplaceable from all of your victims.

'It is abundantly clear to me if (the police) had not arrested you... you would have continued to offend in this fashion.'

Judge Toy added: 'It was truly predatory - you showed no mercy.'
