Temperatures in Melbourne are expected to reach 31C on Saturday before hitting a sweltering 38C from Sunday to Tuesday.
Adelaide is expected to reach highs of 36C on Saturday, 38C on Sunday and a suffocating 39C on Monday.
In WA, temperatures could reach 40C from Wednesday after a week in the high 30s.
