The Albanese government has yet to secure an exemption for 25 per cent levies on the imports of aluminium and steel, slated to come into effect this Thursday, March 12.

But as Australian negotiators try to strike a last-minute deal, Mr Turnbull has declared he’s pessimistic of Australia’s chances and taken direct aim at Donald Trump’s conduct, prompting the pointed response from the US President.
