Parties narrow their chest with democracy
Alghad -
16/03
Several emerging Jordanian parties are exposed to internal problems that threaten their unity and continuation. Some of these problems started in the first preparatory stages of the parliamentary elections and were exacerbated after the disappointing results of most of them.
There is an objective and natural face for this situation; What happens is expected symptoms that accompany the first beginnings of the parties, and can be dealt with with internal partisan mechanisms and treat them over time, where leadership experience grows, and their return with experience and practice, from which she learns partisan work arts, and exceeds bumps from splits, differences and sensitivities.
But there is another disturbing face of what is happening in these parties, I am afraid that he will undermine the experiences of many of them, and push them out of the public work field.
It is clear from the developments that we are currently, that there are parties that narrow their chest with pluralism and internal democracy and cannot tolerate the different opinions. And that the conflict on partisan sites and positions exceeds the concern for a diverse partisan life.
Such headlines became a sufficient reason for the convening of party courts, and the issuance of separation pillars, with defamation and defamation campaigns. If this is not available, some do not hesitate to exert pressure on their opponents to push them to resign voluntarily.
The worst mutual defamation campaigns, sewing conspiracies and coups to topple the first commander or the entire command. And here is the war of the internal parties extending to Parliament, which turned an arena for a conflict between the representatives of one party. After what we recently witnessed in the corridors of the deputies, we no longer rule out that party wars would escalate to the level of physical qualifiers.
The unfortunate truth is that only these scenes and news about the differences of political parties, we can hardly hear in the media about activities or meetings of the parties looking at public policies, or providing an opinion on them. Field meetings are also absent in the governorates, whether for partisan blocks in Parliament, or the leaders of the parties that lost the elections, and it is assumed that the time is to race to rebuild their popular bases in preparation for the coming and parliamentary municipal elections after about three years.
Most parties eat some of them from the inside and their leaders wrestle in public, while partisan rules feel nauseous and disgusting from this situation and do not find a way to express their dissatisfaction. This is nothing but retreat away from partisan work.
This is what no one desires for the path of the Jordanian parties because it represents a serious threat to the process of political modernization, in which it is supposed to move forward to occupy the parties the entire public scene as a historical and modern alternative to all prevailing forms of representation.
Pluralism should be respected within the same party and resolved differences with democratic tools, and avoid customary forms to address them such as expulsion and imbalances.
We hope that this stage of conflicts will go quickly, the parties regain their health, leave the square of the personality, and prepare for a new stage in which we rearrange the political theater to see a capable and effective parties that deserve to be sitting on the seats of Parliament.
