Jase Shore, Jamie Ingram, Mitchell Bennetts, Bennett Gardiner and Gonzalo Herrera were united in August 2019 under the most unlikely of circumstances when Ney began prowling the streets of Sydney armed with a deadly weapon.

The bloodthirsty killer had just murdered Michaela Dunn, a sex worker, before seriously injuring Lin Bo and turning his wrath towards other civilians, trying to slash them with the 20cm knife.

Footage seen around the world showed the group of five pursuing and subduing Ney, with firefighters Mr Bennetts, Mr Gardiner and Mr Herrera leaping from their truck into action and pursuing Ney down the streets.
