Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will announce, on Wednesday, that Labor will support a rise in real wages for Australia’s low paid workers.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will announce, on Wednesday, that Labor will support a rise in real wages for Australia’s low paid workers.

This isn’t a binding policy commitment and does not mean the pay rise will be guaranteed, should Mr Albanese retain power.

Rather, Labor intends to make a submission to the Fair Work Commission on Wednesday which recommends “an economically sustainable real wage increase” for Australia’s award and minimum wage workers.
