The United States on Thursday activated 25 % tariffs on cars, light trucks and auto parts manufactured abroad, a key measure within the commercial strategy of President Donald Trump.

The new tax adds to a 10 % global tariff that will enter into force this Saturday for a wide range of imported products, and that in some cases, such as those of China or the European Union (EU), will rise even more.
