These experts considered in exclusive statements to "Al -Ghad" that the timing of imposing fees increases their danger, as it comes at a time when global economies are still a beginning of successive crises, such as Corona, and the global inflation crisis in the aftermath of the Russian -Ukrainian war, and the economic bounces of the Gaza war.
Experts believe that the developing countries reduce the consequences of the volcano of the prominent policy policies, calling for the search for new economic and investment alliances and blocs, in addition to setting economic plans and programs to support domestic local production, as well as organizing its markets and diversifying the sources of importing and exporting them.
Experts expected a change in the shape of the post -liberation world, as the world appears in the midst of a new international and economic system, and structures of political and economic alliances that are different from the existing alliances.
US President Donald Trump has announced a series of new customs duties targeting 180 countries and regions around the world, as part of what he described as measures to protect the American economy and hold accountable countries that treat the United States in an unfair way.
In his statements, Trump stressed that the fees will include the imposition of 34 % on China, 24 % on Japan, 31 % on Switzerland, 46 % on Vietnam, 32 % on Taiwan, 26 % on India, and 50 % on Lesoto, while the European Union will impose 20 % fees. He stressed that the lowest percentage of customs fees will be 10 %, which will be the share of Britain, while customs duties were imposed on Jordan by 20 %.
Sharp repercussions
The former Finance Minister, Dr. Muhammad Abu Hamour, said that the new American customs policies will constitute economic pressure on the various economies of the world, whether advanced or developing, noting that their impact will be more severe for countries with weak and fragile economies.
Abu Hammour explained that developing countries lack the options and flexibility that developed countries possess, which makes them more vulnerable to the repercussions of the crisis, especially in light of the escalation of recession, the disturbance of global supply chains, and the possibility of inflationary waves.
He added that these challenges may lead to a decline in global growth rates, and deep economic and social tremors in countries limited resources.
