For 88 days, then-13-year-old Jayme Closs was trapped inside her kidnapper's home after he killed her parents and abducted her. Now, six years after her escape, brave Jayme is seen in new photos rebuilding her life.
In the pictures posted to Facebook by her aunt Jennifer Smith, who is now her guardian, the 19-year-old can be seen broadly smiling as she posed with family members while wearing matching bridal shirts alongside the bride in June 2024.
It was nearly four-and-a-half years since Closs had been kidnapped by Jake Thomas Patterson, then 22, in October 2018 in Wisconsin.
And miles away from being trapped under his bed and thrown in the back of his red pickup truck after he fatally shot both of her parents on October 15, 2018.
Closs wouldn't escape Patterson until January 10, 2019, when she bravely ran to his neighbors for safety in nothing but her pajamas and her captor's shoes on the wrong feet.
In the years since her horrifying ordeal, Closs has been pictured multiple times in newly unearthed photos enjoying time with her family and pets, running in races, and traveling to SeaWorld Orlando for a family vacation in 2023.
The teen also graduated high school in June 2023, where she decorated her cap with the words 'and so the adventure begins' and flowers adorned the ides of the cap.
She's also kept her parent's legacy alive by visiting their gravesite on the anniversary in 2022, placing a blue heart plaque with the words: 'I love you mom and dad, love Jayme' on it.
