Superconductor found in nature shakes science: a step closer to transferring energy without resistance

MSN - 13/04
For the first time, a compound with known mineralogical structure demonstrates that it can conduct electricity without energy loss and without the need for extreme conditions

American scientists added a mineral called the Miassita to the group of superconducting materials. According to research published in Communications Material, this rare mineral can be found in nature and displays properties of unconventional superconductivity. This is an important milestone, because so far these properties had only been reached in laboratories.
