An outstanding Peruvian idol caught the attention of the Nobel Prize for Literature, Mario Vargas Llosa, not only because of its influence in the sports field, but for personifying the identity, spirit and determination of an entire nation.

Mario Vargas Llosa, the universal novelist who led Peruvian literature to the top with the Nobel Prize in 2010, died at 89 in Lima. His literary legacy is unquestionable, but there is a little known facet of his life that deserves to be told: his passion for football and his devotion to University of Sports, the club of his loves.
