Collingwood is set to receive a major boost for its clash against ladder leaders Brisbane on Thursday night, with superstar midfielder Jordan De Goey fit to return from his ankle issue.

Collingwood is set to receive a major boost for its clash against ladder leaders Brisbane on Thursday night, with superstar midfielder Jordan De Goey fit to return from his ankle issue.

De Goey was substituted out of the Magpies’ Round 4 win over Carlton with what coach Craig McRae described as a “grumbling ankle”.

McRae said the Magpies had learned from rushing De Goey back from injury prematurely last season and would “play the long game” if need be.

De Goey travelled with Collingwood to Adelaide for Gather Round and then on to Brisbane where he was declared fit to play.
