Trump admits to suspend customs duties about cars in the face of shock in the world economy

Donald Trump suggested on Monday that he could temporarily exempt the tariff auto industry previously imposed on the sector, to give time to car manufacturers to adjust their supply chains. View on Euronews

"I'm thinking of something to help some of the auto companies," Trump told journalists gathered in the Oval Room. The Republican President said car manufacturers need time to move Canada, Mexico and other places: "And they need a little time because they will make them here, but they need a little time. I'm talking about such things."

Matt Blunt, president of the American Automotive Policy Council, an association that represents Ford, General Motors and Stellantis, said the group shared Trump's goals to increase national production.
