First Afghanistan flight from Baerbock on the way to Leipzig

Shortly before the end of her term, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock organized three flights from Afghanistan, who are supposed to bring around 2,800 people to safety. The first aircraft started in Islamabad today and is expected to arrive in Leipzig, the German government said at a government press conference on Wednesday.

Afghan employees who have worked with German institutions in Afghanistan, including human rights lawyers, are to be brought to Germany with the flights.
