An Australian family who long refused to sell their massive block as their suburb boomed around them have finally taken up an offer.

An Australian family who long refused to sell their massive block as their suburb boomed around them have finally taken up an offer.

The 2.34ha site at Hammond Park, in suburban Perth, had been owned by the same couple for 40 years before being put on the market in August.

It has now been revealed they sold to a construction company on April 16 for a price of $4 million.
