A new UK airline, promising to revive the ‘golden age of flying’, will soon have its first long-haul flight.
Global Airlines, founded by entrepreneur and travel enthusiast James Asquith, will give passengers a luxury experience, with free-flowing Laurent-Perrier champagne on offer to all, even those in economy.
Plane tickets will also include checked baggage – a rarity for airlines these days.
Global’s inaugural flight from Glasgow to New York is scheduled for May 15, and tickets are now on sale.
The airline, which is operating its initial flights in partnership with Portuguese charter carrier Hi Fly, will deploy an Airbus A380 for its debut journey, departing Glasgow at 11am and arriving at ... [Short citation of 8% of the original article]
