US President Donald Trump on Monday night disclosed that he and his wife Melania will attend the funeral of Pope Francis.

In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said: “Melania and I will be going to the funeral of Pope Francis, in Rome.”

“We look forward to being there!”

This comes after Trump ordered that American flags be flown at half-mast to honour the late Catholic Pontiff.
