Australia’s top swimmers have been left frustrated over the handling of a doping scandal involving 23 Chinese athletes who tested positive for the banned substance trimetazidine (TMZ) ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.
Despite the positive tests, the swimmers were cleared to compete after Chinese authorities attributed the results to food contamination. That decision was accepted by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
