Six new victims of Michael Shine come forward since start of year

Six new victims of paedophile doctor Michael Shine have come forward since the start of the year.

Among them is a 75-year-old businessman Thomas Ayres who lives in Wales and was molested by the monster medic in 1964.

Another is one of the youngest victims and he was sexually abused by Shine 40 years after Thomas Ayres in 1994 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

Details of their horrific ordeals were given to Taoiseach Micheál Martin during the week as the group representing the 366 victims and their families, Dignity4Patients, demanded a full scale investigation into his activities

Mr Martin was asked how did the paedophile doctor get away with abusing both of them four decades apart.

Thomas said he waited until his wife died before coming forward, going public and he was in a place where he could actually do something.
