Galway residents will see improved water supply once ‘significant’ upgrade works are completed

Communities in north Galway are to benefit from an improved water supply in the coming months, with works scheduled to commence before the end of April.

Starting on April 28, over 3km of old water mains will be replaced between Caherlistrane and Carheens as part of Uisce Éireann’s National Leakage Reduction Programme.

The works, which are scheduled to run until early Autumn, will see ageing water mains replaced with new, modern pipes to significantly reduce the instances of bursts and water outages in the area.
