Manchester City’s challenge to the new rules governing Premier League commercial deals will come to trial in October, according to reports.

City launched arbitration proceedings on January 20 against the validity of the league’s amended associated party transaction (APT) rules, which seek to ensure deals struck between clubs and entities linked to their ownership are for fair market value.

The Lawyer reported on Tuesday that the case will come to trial in mid-October.

Details of City’s challenge were shared with the other 19 top-flight clubs on April 3, with their statement of claim understood to be dated March 27.
