Bray Bowling Club

Bray Bowling Club held an Easter fundraising roll-up recently. Members were generous in their support and significant funds were raised. As the club prepares for the start of the summer leagues, Bray will have 10 teams competing across the various ILB sections on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. The club’s doors are always open to new members.

Cuddly toy sleepover

Get ready for a night of fun at Ballywaltrim Library’s Cuddly Toy Sleepover on Friday, April 25. Bring your favourite cuddly toy to the library any time during the day (open from 10am to 5pm) and let them have a little adventure of their own. While you're at home asleep, your toy will be having the time of its life. You can pick them up from 10am on Saturday and hear all about what they got up to.

Cancer survivors

Purple House Cancer Support will be running the Stanford ‘Cancer Thriving & Surviving Programme’, starting on Tuesday, May 6 and running until Tuesday, June 10 from 10am-12.30pm. This is a self-management programme for cancer survivors (minimum three months post treatment) with the aim of improving your quality of life to better manage your daily health. Dargle River film

Filmaker Alan Gilsenan is making a film about the Dargle River, a portrait of the river and its community, for this year’s Shaking Bog Festival and is looking to involve people from the local community. An information evening will take place at Bray Family Resource Centre, at 7pm, on Thursday, April 24.

Cycling club summer rides

Greystones Cycling Club’s summer rides start on Sunday, at 9am and will run every week, returning to Greystones at about 1pm. The meeting point is next to Zoom Adventure, Eden Gate, Delgany (A63 CA18).

The group cycles around 70 kilometres in each session with an average pace of 20-23km/h, taking in some of Wicklow’s finest cycling routes and climbs.

The spins are for over 18s only and anyone interested should send a text first to 087 234 0140.

Bray Girl Guides
