WASHINGTON - The internal fights and betrayals that plagued President Donald Trump's first term returned by constituting a threat to their second passage through the White House, with increasing discords in relation to trade, national security and personal loyalty issues.

The latest turbulence threatens the Pentagon, after the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, dismiss his main advisers. And Hegseth faces new controversy for sharing confidential information about air attacks on ymen outside confidential channels. A former Pentagon general, who was fired last week, wrote on the political site that Trump should dismiss Hegseth because he was responsible for a "total collapse."

The interpersonal drama is not, at least for now, the dominant plot of Trump's return to the White House. But this resurgence, after a period of relative discipline between ranks, reflects a turbulent management style that had been suppressed or covered but not reformulated.
