NSW SES crews are speeding to the small coastal hamlets in Lake Conjola as fears rise amid “significant” flood risks in the South Coast area.

A NSW SES spokesperson told NewsWire crews will “undertake community liaison with concerned residents”.

The flood risk has been caused by failed efforts to dig out a channel from Lake Conjola to the ocean, in order to alleviate flooding.

Holiday Haven Lake Conjola manager Brad MacDougall said they evacuated some residents of the holiday park.
