Researchers from the National University of Singapore succeeded in generating electricity with high efficiency of rain water using a simple and inexpensive technology that depends on the flow of water in small tubes, recently published the results in the ACS Sentral Science patrol of the American Chemical Society.
The study proposes an innovative approach to power generation based on a concept called "flow of plug" instead of the continuous flow of water, and the researchers confirm that this discovery can make a qualitative shift in benefiting from rain as a clean and renewable source of energy, especially in urban areas and remote areas.
"I think this technology can change the way we think about energy, especially in the era of climate change. It shows us that there are sustainable energy sources in the simplest natural phenomena, such as rain. We are very excited about this possibility," says Seouling Soo, the main supervisor of the study and associate p... [Short citation of 8% of the original article]
