South Australia’s Barossa Valley, Victoria’s Yarra Valley and Western Australia’s Margaret River were the most successful Aussie wine regions on Wednesday night at the bottle shop’s 2025 Best in Glass Wine Awards in Melbourne.

One of the wines crowned the best in its category is just $20.29 a bottle.

That is the pinot gris from Tim Adams Wines, a family-owned and operated winery in South Australia’s Clare Valley. The best riesling costs not much more at $24.29 a bottle from Rieslingfreak in the same valley.

South Australia was the most successful state in the awards, taking home 13 wins. The best shiraz (Langmeil Valley Floor Shiraz) and the best grenache (Teusner Joshua Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre) both come from the Barossa Valley.

Victoria’s wine regions won eight awards, Western Australia had four winners all from Margaret River and Tasmania dominated the sparkling category.
