Former NRL player Jarryd Hayne's lawyers argue he should remain on bail while awaiting sentence for sexual assault because he would be a "target" for other prisoners, a court has heard.
Hayne, 35, was on Tuesday found guilty of two counts of sexual intercourse without consent of a Newcastle woman in 2018.
